Jhpiego invites applications for upcoming five-year USAID project focusing on HIV biomedical prevention strategies, including voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC), PrEP, condoms, key populations (KP), and evidence generation /data.

Zimbabwe nationals are preferred. Please note these Harare based positions are contingent upon award by the donor.

Overview: The Technical Advisor for PrEP (Pre Exposure Prophylaxis) will provide technical leadership and project oversight in the area of HIV biomedical prevention, specifically oral pre-exposure prophylaxis. The Advisor will oversee and ensure the technical and methodological soundness of all project activities. In collaboration with project team and partners, the position will support the design and implementation of service delivery strategies based on scientific evidence.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Medical Degree (doctor or nursing), and Master of Public Health preferred

  • At least 5 years’ experience implementing and/or providing technical assistance in HIV biomedical prevention and/or KP programs, including at least 1 year specifically working in PrEP

  • At least 7 years’ experience in implementing and/or providing technical assistance of $5-10M per year in donor-funded projects and in the design and implementation of overseas health projects; preferably in the Zimbabwe

  • Demonstrated experience training clinical and community-based healthcare workers on HIV biomedical prevention, including PrEP

  • Skilled in at least 2 or more of the following technical areas: strengthening service delivery projects; training; pre-service education; performance and quality improvement; monitoring and evaluation

Overview: The Technical Director will provide technical leadership and project oversight in the areas of cervical cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment for cervical cancer in HIV positive women. The position will oversee and ensure the technical and methodological soundness of all project activities. In collaboration with project team and partners, the position will support the design and implementation of service delivery strategies based on scientific evidence.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Clinical Doctorate Degree (medical or nursing), and Master of Public Health preferred

  • At least 10 years’ experience implementing and/or providing technical assistance in cervical cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment

  • Demonstrated experience in cervical cancer prevention, including VIA and Cryotherapy

  • At least 10 years’ experience in implementing and/or providing technical assistance of approximately $5-10M per year in donor-funded projects and in the design and implementation of overseas health projects; preferably in Zimbabwe

  • Experience with projects implementing biomarker tests, including HPV
